The following are expectations for student behavior:

 

I. Profanity

The use of profane, lewd, and/or vulgar language of any kind will be unacceptable.

                           1st Offense - 1 day suspension

                           2nd Offense - 3 day suspension

                           3rd Offense - 5 day suspension

                           4th Offense - 10 day suspension

Profanity/swearing directed towards a faculty member/adult

                           1st Offense - 3 day suspension

                           2nd Offense - 5 day suspension

                           3rd Offense - 10 day suspension

 

Cell Phone and other Devices

Cell phones, MP3 players (including headphones), all other devices causing noise are to remain OFF and out of sight upon entering the building and until 2:55 pm.
    1st offense – Device is confiscated and parent is notified to pick device up (ASD
assigned) Refusal to give device to staff/administrators will result in 1
day suspension.
    2nd offense – 3 day suspension and confiscation of device. Refusal to give
device to staff/administrator will result in 5 day suspension. Devise will
be kept for 1 school week.
    3rd offense – 5 days suspension and confiscation of device. Refusal to give
device to staff/administrator will result in 10 day suspension. Devise
will be kept for 1 school month.

 

III. Students will only be allowed to have food and drinks in the cafeteria. Foodand drinks will not be allowed in the hallways or the classrooms. Theonly exceptions in the classroom will be bottled water and foods/drinksthat have been prepared in the Foods classes. Students in violation ofthis policy will have their food/drinks thrown in the trashimmediately. Students returning from activities such as Senior Lunch,Journalism, Stanly Community College, etc. are not to bring food intothe building.

 

IV. The Dress Code will be enforced as it is written in the Student Code of Conduct. 

 

V. Expectation from Administration and Teacher - Allstudents will work in their classes to the best of theirabilities. Sleeping in class or refusing to work will not be tolerated.
